Why You Need To Begin the Process Now
Making that final decision to go through with moving to a completely different country is not an easy decision to make. To start with, Canada has plans for inviting 980,000 new people to take up being a permanent resident before the last part of 2020. These numbers are the highest they have ever been for Canada. It is safe to say that their immigration policies are more lenient than they have ever been.

Is Immigration in Canada Really That Open?

You must keep in mind that this large number is divided throughout various immigration programs. There are currently dozens of programs available, making the number seem smaller.
Another thing to consider is how these numbers are spread over many years. Therefore, by doing the math you can easily see that Canada is open and inviting, but manages immigration to a slow pace. This allows Canada to be sure to integrate their society in the best way possible and to make it easier for newcomers to adjust.

Express Entry
Canada has plans of choosing 242,100 candidates to invite in by way of the ever popular ‘Express Entry Program’. However, these numbers do not apply only to the general program, it applies to every provincial program managed by the Express Entry program. The Provincial Nominee Programs
The Provincial Nominee Programs will keep be ran by individual Provinces and each has their own requirements. By 2020 there will be 183,000 additional people settled in Canada through the use of these programs. Family programs
Canada has plans to start accepting as many as 265,500 family members to Canadian citizens, including permanent residents. This refers to dependent children (up to age 22), common-law partners, spouses, grandparents, and parents. Meanwhile, if family members live in Canada who have Canadian citizenship or a Permanent Resident card, there is a special immigration program with flexible requirements.

Other Types of Entry
Canada is going to continue with their humanitarian efforts and get 137,350 refugees. This includes 12,250 humanitarian immigrants, in addition to all the other programs. Overall, Canada will grant 330,000 permanent resident candidates by end of 2019. This number will increase to 340,000 by the year of 2020. This is the most ambitious goals that Canada has had on immigration, according to Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Immigration Minister. These goals are being supported by the government, including an overwhelming majority of Canadian citizens, according to recent surveys conducted throughout Canada. The results showed how much faith the Canadian people have for giving contribution.
